    Visit settle

How a medical bill leaves the counter

Treatment or dispensing finishes first. Billing turns what was charged into lines the patient can read before they leave.

    1. 1

      Pick the visit type

Pharmacy / OPD, Hospital Stay, or Detailed. Bill type switches which fields appear; template only changes how the PDF looks.

    2. 2

      Name the provider and patient

Clinic, hospital, or pharmacy header plus patient name. Admit dates and guardian appear when the stay layout needs them.

    3. 3

      Itemise what was charged

Consultation, room, labs, or medicines each get a row with qty and rate. Empty amounts stay off the PDF.

    4. 4

      Add optional visit detail

Complaint or diagnosis when your records have it. Insurance Yes / No when the stay form uses that field. Leave blank when the slip is only charges.

    5. 5

      Preview, then hand over

Live preview matches the PDF. Print on A4 at the desk or send the file when the patient prefers digital.

    6. 6

      Keep the clinic copy

Same date, patient, and lines as the patient copy. Bill History covers a later duplicate ask.

    Bill type

Pharmacy lines and hospital stays are not the same form

A medicine counter and an inpatient desk do not fill the same fields. Bill type drives the form. Classic, Premium, and Care only change print design.

    • Pharmacy / OPD shows medicine, batch, expiry, and cash-memo style lines.
    • Hospital Stay adds admit and discharge dates, room, and guardian.
    • Detailed adds admission number, department, and a fuller diagnosis field.

    Where settle sticks

The visit finished. The bill still is not clear

Most medical PDFs here start when the clinic already knows the charges, but the patient leaves without a readable copy.

    Handwritten slip, unclear total

Staff can read the note. Patients often cannot. Callbacks start with “what is this line?”

One lump for consult, labs, and meds

Reviewers ask for each charge. Separate rows stop the lump-sum argument at the counter.

Patient asks for another copy later

Date, patient name, and lines are still known. The PDF just needs to match your records.

    No hospital billing software

Small clinics and pharmacies need a clean receipt, not a full HIS install.

    Who touches the bill

Pharmacy counter, billing desk, and patient

One PDF clears the window, goes home with the patient, and later sits in the clinic file. This is a payment record, not medical advice.

    Pharmacy / OPD

    • Print medicine lines with batch and expiry when used
    • Replace a smudged handwritten memo with a PDF
    • Match cash-memo totals to what left the shelf

    Clinic / hospital billing

    • Itemise consultation, room, and labs for a stay
    • Set insurance Yes / No when that field belongs on the bill
    • Reissue from Bill History when the patient lost the first copy

    Patient / guardian

    • See charges before leaving the desk
    • Keep an itemised copy with visit papers
    • Ask for a duplicate when the first PDF is missing

    Design choices

Why lines stay separate and diagnosis stays optional

These decisions came from how counters settle a visit, not from a generic invoice template.

    Itemisation over one total

Consultation, room, labs, and medicines print as their own rows. Patients argue about lines, not abstract grand totals.

    Diagnosis is optional

Some bills need a short complaint. Many pharmacy slips do not. Fields stay blank on the PDF when you leave them empty.

    Insurance is a light flag

Hospital layouts can mark insurance Yes or No when your desk records it. The form does not file claims or compute 80D.

No medical advice in the product

The form records what you already charged. It does not diagnose, prescribe, or replace clinical notes.

    Before download

Check these before the patient leaves

The usual re-download is a wrong patient name or a medicine line that still shows sample amounts.

    After the visit

How clinics keep bills after the patient walks out

Once the window closes, the job is matching the patient copy to your file and answering anyone who needs the same lines again.

File by patient and visit date

Keep the clinic or pharmacy copy with the same totals as the patient PDF. Date and patient name make later searches possible without guessing.

    Keep services and medicines apart

Itemised rows matter when someone asks what was charged. A merged total hides whether labs or room drove the figure.

Resend when a duplicate is requested

Reopen from Bill History or rebuild from your records. Same patient, same lines, same visit dates.

    FAQ

    Questions from the billing counter

Bill types, diagnosis fields, printing, and downloads.

Can I edit the medical bill before downloading?

Yes. Provider details, patient fields, bill type, line items, and payment stay editable until you download. The live preview updates as you type.

Is the medical bill available as a PDF?

Yes. Download saves a PDF. Signed-in users can re-download earlier visits from Bill History.

What changes when I pick Pharmacy, Hospital Stay, or Detailed?

Pharmacy / OPD shows medicine, batch, expiry, and cash-memo style fields. Hospital Stay adds admit and discharge dates, room, and guardian. Detailed hospitalization adds admission number, department, and a fuller diagnosis field. Template design is separate from bill type.

Is diagnosis required on every bill?

No. Complaint or diagnosis fields are optional. Enter them when your records have them. Leave them blank when the PDF only needs services and medicines.

Does this generator provide medical advice?

No. It only formats a payment record for services or medicines you already issued. It does not diagnose, prescribe, or replace clinical notes.

What does the insurance field do?

On hospital layouts you can mark insurance Yes or No when your desk records it. The form does not file claims or compute tax deductions.

Can I print the bill on A4 paper?

Yes. The PDF fits standard A4. Open the file and print from the browser or system dialog.

Do I need a subscription to download medical bills?

Your first bill is free after sign-up. After that, pay ₹10 per download or get unlimited downloads with ₹99 per month or ₹499 for a year. No auto-renewal. See the pricing page for details.
