How a medical bill leaves the counter
Treatment or dispensing finishes first. Billing turns what was charged into lines the patient can read before they leave.

Bill type
Pharmacy lines and hospital stays are not the same form
A medicine counter and an inpatient desk do not fill the same fields. Bill type drives the form. Classic, Premium, and Care only change print design.

- Hospital Stay adds admit and discharge dates, room, and guardian.
- Detailed adds admission number, department, and a fuller diagnosis field.

Why lines stay separate and diagnosis stays optional
These decisions came from how counters settle a visit, not from a generic invoice template.
Itemisation over one total
Consultation, room, labs, and medicines print as their own rows. Patients argue about lines, not abstract grand totals.
Diagnosis is optional
Some bills need a short complaint. Many pharmacy slips do not. Fields stay blank on the PDF when you leave them empty.
Insurance is a light flag
Hospital layouts can mark insurance Yes or No when your desk records it. The form does not file claims or compute 80D.
No medical advice in the product
The form records what you already charged. It does not diagnose, prescribe, or replace clinical notes.

The usual re-download is a wrong patient name or a medicine line that still shows sample amounts.

Once the window closes, the job is matching the patient copy to your file and answering anyone who needs the same lines again.
File by patient and visit date
Keep the clinic or pharmacy copy with the same totals as the patient PDF. Date and patient name make later searches possible without guessing.
